LUCKNOW:Two days National seminar on Social Ecology & Environmental Movements in India on Monday this week was organized by Department of Sociology at Malviya Auditorium in University of Lucknow .
The symposium was on ‘Social and Environmental Protection’. The renowned sociologists of India; namely, ‘Prof TK Oomen,

Prof Amita Baviskar said, “ The concept presented by David Harvy, ‘accumulation by dispossesion’ the capitalist policies to the present day, as resulting in a centralization of wealth and power in the hands of a few by dispossessing the public of their wealth or land like new ‘imperialism’.

These policies are guided mainly by four practices – privatization, financialization, management and manipulation of crises and state redistribution.”
Neo liberalism leads the privatization and co modification of public assets. This aspects could be characterized by the process of transferring property from public ownership to private ownership.

Marxist theory says, this serves the interests of the capitalist class as it moves the powers from the nation’s governments to private parties. At this juncture, privatization generates a means for profit for the capitalist class.
The heart of accumulation by dispossession is the private control of the quantity of money supply that can be manipulated for private gain, which includes creating unemployment or restive conditions in the population.
Professors and Assistant Professors of various colleges in Lucknow  for  two days on Oct 13, 14 in this fair cooperated tirelessly .

The intellectuals and the renowned persons from all over India participated in the national seminar. The program was unique. And it disclosed the government's policies; the co-relations of government with the traders, the industrialist, and the peoples; and the business impact on general public of these policies was discussed. The heritage of human civilization under Ecology flourished; and in the name of development of their assets and wealth which they possessed from origin are being acquired by government in the public interest; by traders' purchase; by grabbing them giving loans to use in own-commercial gain -- such all activities were a concern of this ceremony.

Professor Anand Kumar, BHU, said, " The social researchers will have to come out from the past topics of marriage customary; and now they have to work on the social ecology that has encountered a threat of annihilation under neo liberalism."
