Time to prepare for border — for nation

By on Friday, September 30, 2016

Krishn Praddhumn
Today is a beginning to secure of our interests wherever is vulnerable. PM Modi has visited many countries for the purpose of economic affairs, and was criticized over the years -- even recently -- for lacking the national will to use its military capability.
The special operations effort by our army para-commandos who destroyed the training camps by killing militants in PoK , statedly after an insertion on foot, have put a tribute to our martyrs posthumously. The families of armed force were feeling caged military service of their sons and spouse because they were informed with the news of dearest lost lives; but the action of retaliation against such offensive was limited only inside state.
It is  a step of appalling imminent danger by neighbour, but if our forces did so tough, it is time to help them by nation.
We are going to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti on Oct 2. Our preach to Ahimsa is worldwide, for those countries which have full democracy; and our preach to annihilation of root cause of suffering is in practical, for those countries which have lack of democracy.
Here the time is to remind Mr Jinnah’s inaugural address to the people, he said,
“You may belong to any religion, caste or creed. That has nothing to do with the business of the state. If this idea was kept in mind, Hindus would cease to be Hindus and Muslim would cease to be Muslims not in the religious sense but in political sense as citizens of the state.” But it was like locking the stable after the fleeing of the horse.
Indeed, the offensive diplomacy  at the United Nation and India's threat to Pakistan over the Most Favoured Nation status and the Indus Water Treaty -- all have been given a tremendous fillip by the dramatic surgical strike.
Videos of the entire operation taken by a suitably positioned drone are already streaming on national media. More details about the exact modus operandi would be emerging soon.
There would be some retaliation from Pakistan which needs an alert now. Now what form exactly it would take is debatable.
Some analysts feel we should expect Mumbai-like attacks to happen. I, for one, feel that any terror strike at this juncture is not on the cards. The reaction would most likely be military in nature and possibly using their Special Forces or attack helicopters.
India has to be prepared for this, especially with respect to the defence of our forward bases such as vulnerable border airfields. Airfields at and near the border areas come to mind where the attack may be imminent need defences beef up.
We would need to continue with counter-terror surgical strikes in PoK, possibly gravitating to attack helicopter strikes or even fighter strikes on terror launch pads.
Special forces operations may not be possible in all scenarios and hence the other options advocated.
The biggest challenge for our decision makers and military planners to consider is the control of the escalation ladder.
The time is not for ecstasy, but to prepare ourselves to face bravely if we go across the battlefield.

DURING INVESTIGATION OF ONE ACCUSED -- TORMENTED FAMILY COMMITTED SUICIDE

By on Friday, September 30, 2016

A senior official of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) was arrested by the CBI on charges of corruption, and hours after he was produced in court, his wife and daughter committed suicide at their apartment in Delhi’s Madhu Vihar.
MCA Director-General Bal Kishan Bansal’s wife Satyabala (58) and his daughter Neha (28) hanged themselves on July22, 2016 afternoon at Neelkanth Apartments.
The CBI conducted a raid at Bansal’s residence for the second time on July 21. Bansal’s son Yogesh Bansal, who ran a property business, had absconded since the CBI’s first raid on July 16.
Bansal was the senior-most officer of the Corporate Law Service and used to provide recommendations to the ministry on technical matters, reporting directly to the Secretary (Corporate Affairs).
He was arrested by the CBI on alleged charges of bribery and attempting to scuttle a probe against a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company that had faced allegations of duping investors and diverting funds abroad.
Bansal was arrested after the CBI allegedly caught him accepting a bribe of Rs 9 lakh, based on information that the agency had obtained from unidentified sources.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Eastern range) Satish Golcha had said about his wife and daughter's death that two separate suicide notes were recovered. Prima facie there seemed to be no foul play. However, investigations were being carried out,
Pahwa (neighbor) had told, “They began their raid at around 3:30 pm and continued till 5:30 am the next day on 21 July this year.”
The CBItold the special court that they had recovered 4-5 kg of gold and Rs 56 lakh in cash from Bansal. The agency alleged that Bansal had made “a settlement” with the private firm for Rs 50 lakh from which Rs 11 lakh was paid as the first installment.
Mr BK Bansal was released on bail on last 26 August 2016. Mr Bansal committed suicide by hanging with his son Yogesh in home on morning of September 27.
According to the information, Mr Bansal after his return from jail was very much in trauma. He was very saddened after the death of his wife and daughter, but his quotes were that life should flow ahead.
The son Yogesh lived with the relatives in Hissar, but after the father’s release he arrived in Delhi. Yogesh was in property dealing business. BKBansal and his son both came to reside again in the same flat where he and his family had been living since the year 2004.
According to police, B K Bansal had called Pundit(priest) his home on Monday evening 6 o’clock.
Giving Rs 2000 he had said to Pundit that they were going out of station for 10-15 days , so keep the money.
Bansal had got some worship done by Pundit (priest) after the case registered  in CBI. The worshiper (priest) was the last man who had met with Bansal before the committing suicide.
According to information, a note before committing suicide was left in home on Tuesday, one page of which has been hand written while remaining are of photocopies of documents. He has given his relatives phone numbers and  his photograph with suicide note. He accused CBI  for tormenting.
Bansal in the note has said about his wife and daughter’s suicide. He told how CBI officers were tormenting his family.
Delhi police has taken the suicide note in their custody, and intimated to the higher CBI officers because they could inquire the investigating officers of BK Bansal.
The suicide note of 5 pages has been written by Mr Bansal, while 2 pages of his son Yogesh; but what allegations are in the notes are not being disclosed by Delhi police. Bansal has written nothing about his property heirs. DCP said, they are sending the suicide note to the CBI so that they can view the allegations by deceased over its officers. However there has not been lodged any complaint in this connection.
The CBI has expressed its sorry after  BK Bansal’s death incident. Its officers have said the local police are probing the case. The officials are tight lipped including delhi police. Yogesh   was neither accused in this case nor he was summoned by the CBI.The CBI was probing only bribe case which is still continuous.

Rahul Gandhi narrow escapes by Shoe attack in UP

By on Tuesday, September 27, 2016

As Rahul Gandhi's cavalcade arrived in Sitapur, and he began his road show, a shoe threw in the air targeted toward him that impacted on the minibus which was carrying Rahul Gandhi on Monday. Sitapur is a district 89 K.M. away from, and North of, state capital Uttar Pradesh.
The shoe touched Jitin Prasad’s hand in the target path and missed Rahul. The man, Hari Om Mishra, has been arrested, but he is unexplained about his resentment. The man told himself a journalist of local channel.
Rahul said that the RSS and BJP attacked on me when I was passing by road. I want to tell them that they can attack on me as much they do! But I will continue my fight and never go a step back. He said. “my fraternity and love is with me, and yours hate is with you."
He addressed a public meeting in Bhitauli and he said that Mr Mulayam and Ms Mayawati, both the leaders in UP, are being controlled by PM Narendra Modi. Both the parties cannot perfectly contest and fight against the BJP; mere Congress is capable to defeat the BJP in UP.
