Rs. 5 Lakh Compensation Each to Families of Victims of Hashimpura


U P GOVERNMENT DECIDED TO CHALLENGE COURT ACQUITTAL OF 16 PAC MEN
Lucknow: Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, on Wednesday announced a financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh each to the families of the 115 victims of Hashimpura and Maliana massacre in Meerut district in 1987.
 The announcement came a day after Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav met  the massacre affected families, and assured them the compensation of minimum Rs.1 lakh.
The state government on Tuesday decided to challenge the Hashimpura massacre case verdict in Delhi High Court, almost two months after session court acquitted 16 former PAC personnel accused of killing 48 Muslim men in Meerut.
