PIL Sought CBI Probe for Murder of Journalist

Allahabad High Court of Lucknow bench asked  State Govt to Submit Investigation Status 

Image result for lucknow high court photoThe Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court asked the State Government to file the status of application within 1 week the alleged murder of Journalist Jagendra Singh in Shahjahan Pur. A minister and 5 others are accused in the case according to the FIR. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petitions seeking a CBI probe into the case was heard in a vacation division bench of Justice Shri Narayan Shukla and Justice Pratiyansh Kumar. The Court on Tuesday passed an order to inform it the State Government about the stage of investigation on June 24 along with the objections raised during the course of hearing the matter. An NGO,'with the people' filed the PIL on June 11; Bulbul Godial, Additional Advocate General, contended, 'the FIR was lodged on June 9 and the PIL filed 2 days later is aimed for gaining the popularity through the print and electronic media.
Jagendra Singh, the slain Journalist, was burnt alive on his home on June 2nd 2015 by 5 men.
