India vs South Africa 2nd T20: Irate fans hurl water bottles
Crowd
trouble forced two interruptions in play during the second T20I at the Barabati
Stadium in Cuttack as India slid to a six-wicket defeat against South Africa
.Play
was held up for more than 50 minutes during South Africa's chase after
spectators, largely from one section of the stadium, began throwing plastic
bottles onto the field.
The captain
of T-20 and one day cricket team India, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, said not to be
serious with the misbehavior of spectators during the T-20 match versus South
Africa. The South African captain Faf
du Plessis has the antonyms statement to prevent
it and hoped not to be the repetition of such incident Dhoni
said, “I recalls ' we were playing at Wagjeg and won the match easily;
consequently the bottles hurling incident took place there. It began with
throwing first bottle and then the spectators keep on enjoying. '" However
Dhoni said that there were no lapse in the security of players. As far as the
question of players’ security, I don’t feel that there was any endangering
situation. A few fans were throwing
bottles into cricket ground. Umpires thought to be in or out of the cricket
ground to be safe. We did not play better and many times we encountered such
reaction. A few first bottles were frenzy thrown later it was revelers act.
The South African captain criticized the incident and
hoped that the incident will never repeat in 72 days visit to India. He said,
“It looked unfair. I played the cricket 5-6 years in India and faced never such
incidents. All you come to play here and the best team wins the match. It is
unfair and it should not have been. I hope it is first and last happening. On
asking what does it come to mind mere in subcontinent? He said, “It is
difficult to say.” The people for their
teams around the world are most sentimental. They cross the limit many times,
which should not be happen It is the first time in India —I saw; I cannot say
this happen mostly. The people are frenzy in play but the players have never
desire of such happening.
