POWERFUL EARTHQUAKE SHAKES NORTH-EAST INDIA
MANY BUILDINGS COLLAPSED; 100 INJURED, 8 DIED
100 people injured and 8 died when earthquake of
intensity measuring Richter scale 6.7 shook many areas of North-East province
in India early mornings at 4:35 am on Monday. The 6 people have died yet and many injured
in Manipur.
Assam,West
Bengal, Arunachal, Bihar Jharkhand including many areas were affected by the tremor.
The epicenter was 33 kilometer away from Imphal and its depth was 35 kilometer
inside the earth. The blackout has been declared in Imphal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked with the CM
Tarun Gogoi on telephone and asked about the situation. He gave the information
on tweeter. He also talked on phone with the CM Nabam Tuki of Arunachal
Pradesh; and PM talked with home minister.
PM wrote on tweeter,
‘Talked
with Rajnath ji who is in Assam? Discussed with him about the situation; he is
monitoring it.’

Minister said that he is taking the chief minister of affected state. The CM of
Assam could not be talked. He talked with the chief secretary.
The NDRF team has been
sent for the rescue operation in the earthquake affected area of Assam. Two teams are working on the front of
earthquake affected Guwahati. The trapped people on many places are being
airlifted.
According to the
information, the 6 floors building collapsed due to the tremor. The building
collapsed caused very much damage.
