Jammu Kashmir to hold civic polls elections likely in May June
The suspense is continuing to
form the J&K Government. The local bodies and the Panchayat election after 11 years are to
be held there in May-June.
According to information; the
governor, NN Vohra, on Tuesday in state administrative board said with
Shantmanu, chief election officer, to complete the preparation for the local bodies civic polls in the first week of May. However
the election department will declare the dates after the meeting of main parties’
delegates with the governor.
Vohra said, “The state will be
benefited maximum after the urban local bodies (ULB) election in time and the
reward will be felicitated for this purpose from 14th finance commission. The
fund of Rs 5480 crore will be granted to the decentralized democratic
structure. Rs 3463 crore to Panchayat and Rs 1305 to Nagar Nigam; in addition
Rs.346 crore and Rs 261 crore will be allotted of performance grant."
