The accident
took place at Puttingal temple at Paravur in kollam district Kerala. When the
fire caught, it was a firecrackers view going on.
The injured
were rushed to hospital.
A case has been registered against the temple
administration.

firecrackers show was launched at 11.45 late night and was continued till
4:00AM morning. According to information, the fire caught at 3:30 am in Pandal
of temple (covered CANVAS).

Oommen Chandy, the Chief Minister of Kerala, has ordered to
a judicial probe in this accident after reaching the accident spot.
He said to Chief Secretary of State
to take the permission by the election commission of giving ex-gratia to the victims of fire. When the election code of conduct has been imposed, the Government
of State without taking the permission by the election commission cannot
declare the ex-gratia to the victims.
The Home Minister of state Ramesh
Chennithala has reached the spot. The State Health Minister VS Shiv Kumar has
also declared emergency and all the necessary provision in Trivandrum medical
College and Kollam General Hospital.
It is noticeable; the firecrackers show is a general activity in Puttingal Devi Temple. Especially on the occasion of New Year it is formal. The Malayalam New Year is going to start on April 14; the fire crackers show was being celebrated.
