supreme court instructed to maintain status quo on reservation in promotions in madhya pradesh

Supreme
Court has given interim relief to the government employees who have been
promoted under reservation. The apex court has instructed to maintain status quo on reservation in the promotions on the decision of High
Court Madhya Pradesh which had ordered to demote them.
After
the verdict of apex court although neither the promoted employees will be
demoted on lower posts nor the other SC/ST employees will be promoted under the
benefits of reservation.
The
apex court on filed writ petition of Madhya Pradesh government issued notices
to the defendants against the verdict of high court. The court, giving the stay
on the matter, will hear it on the 3rd week of September.
It is noticeable, the HC (Madhya Pradesh) has quashed the
Madhya Pradesh Public service rule 2002 which had been implemented to give the
reservation in promotion to the SC/ST employees on 30 April last month; and
also ordered to demote them to the lower posts who had been promoted under the
provision.
The 30 thousands of
employees have been affected by this order while the MP Government filed an
application of relief against the order of HC in Supreme Court.
