Indian women's hockey team wins the Asian Champions Trophy

Ace striker Deepika scored the winner in the dying minutes as India registered a sensational 2-1 victory over China in the final to win the 4th Women’s Asian Champion Trophy hockey tournament in Singapore on Saturday.
 The confirmation has come and the Indian women's hockey team has booked a place in 2016 Rio Olympics. The women's team will be featuring in the Olympics for the second time and the first instance being in 1980 where they finished fourth.
Player of the day Deepika found the net with a rasping shot after finding the rebound from the penalty corner with just 20 seconds to go for the final hooter.

"India qualified after England defeated Spain in the semi-finals of the Unibet EuroHockey Championships in London, which ensured that the only teams who can now win the event have already qualified for Rio through the Hockey World League Semi-Finals - Netherlands and England (as Great Britain),"
