Rihai Manch has castigated the barbaric attack by the Uttar Pradesh
police over the march of Aligarh Muslim University’s students for the
disappeared student Najeeb.
The overcrowded students of AMU organised a march from Maulana
Azad library in demand of justice for Najeeb on Saturday morning this week.
The march was peaceful.
The students were demanding for the comeback of Najeeb; for action against the
ABVP goons who had attacked over him. The students announced to stop the train,
said Rihai Manch.
The students were first tried to stop inside the campus and the force were deployed at Bab-e-Syed gate, but the crowd could not be paused there.

When the police was
failed to convince them, they attacked over these marching students. The water
cannon and the lathi charge over the students at Gantaghar injured badly them.
The 250 students were arrested and later released at PAC parade ground.
Mohd Arif, member Rihai
Manch, said, the students of JNU and AMU are being targeted. Students like
Rohith Vemula and Najeeb had no freedom and security for the study and academic
career; and such quote by the police, during the march by AMU students that
all will face like Najeeb exposes the failing claim of social justice.
Amanullah, student of
research fellow at AMU, said, every lathi will be reckoned in forth coming
assembly election in the state. And every lathi over the students of AMU will
prove the last nail of SP’s box.
The students shouting slogans of Murdabad have been arrested.
ASP and District Magistrate both marched on the street. Jamiruddin Shah, vice
chancellor AMU, said after the lathi charge that the protest under the
democratic way is fair; but the hindrance will not be tolerated. The accused
will be punished after the detailed report of whole incident.
The chaotic situation was there from AMU to railway station.
The trains, Purushottam Express and Vikramshila Express, arrived here from Delhi
delayed in departure because of students’ campaign.
