CONGRESS IS NOT IN MOOD TO LEAVE MATTER EASILY
On the 11th of January,
the Congress Party is bringing together its leaders, workers and representatives
from across the country in a Jan Vedna Sammelan at the Talkatora Stadium. The
Congress Party will coordinate with its workers and address the many hardships
that the people of the country have been put through due the Modi ji’s
Demonetisation decision. Furthermore, the Party will also highlight the
anti-poor and anti-public decisions of the BJP government during the past 2.5
years of its rule during this conference.

Let us start with
Counterfeiting. As per the Government’s own statement only 0.02% of the
currency in circulation was counterfeit. That is a miniscule number, which
could have been tackled with better policing.
2017 is not even a
fortnight old, and already there have been 3 terror attacks, which have taken
the lives of our brave jawans and engineers from GREF. Demonetisation has not
affected the terror attacks from across the border. Even terrorists have been
found with the new Rs 2000 notes.
Finally we come to Black
Money, the main thrust behind this decision to make large value notes illegal
tender. The RBI has been surprisingly silent on this issue, yet according to
media reports, 97% of the money has come back into the banking system. If the
cash was Black Money, wouldn’t it have stayed out? How much of it was Black
Money? How many people are being investigated? Why is Shri Narendra Modi not
answering?
Initial trends are
already showing GDP projection falling. Nearly 120 people have died, small
traders & businesses brought to ruin & daily wage earners going hungry.
Have the rich been affected? Who were standing in the lines? Who were reduced
to tears? Who had to bury their loved ones because they couldn’t access their
money for medical care? It was the poor and the lower income groups. It is to
them that Shri Modi must answer.
