SAD-BJP is selling land and mortgaging properties; Cong will ensure funds availability to help farmers of state: Captain Amarinder Singh said in manifesto
Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan
Singh, along with Ambika Soni, Captain Amarinder Singh, Asha Kumari, Randeep
Surjewala & other launched the manifesto of the Punjab Pradesh Congress
Committee for the upcoming elections on Monday.
Dr Singh said, “Punjab is a state with tremendous unexploited
potential. This potential has not been exploited because of mismanagement by
the incumbent BJP- Akali Government.”
He further added that the challenge before
the Punjab was to rise above all the din and to recognise that its people
deserve a better tomorrow.
He said, “The manifesto was a forward looking, visionary document
which promises to the people that we will undo the damage done to the Punjab
economy over the last 10 years by the incumbent Government.”
Dr
Singh said, “Captain Amarinder Singh’s leadership is a need to the state at
this time. In him we have a leader of great vision. His commitment to the cause
of development for Punjab is unrivalled… Captain Amarinder will set a new
pathway for a better tomorrow.”
Captain Amarinder Singh said that the Punjab budget was working
with a deficit. The State’s finances are burdened with so much of debt that the
SAD-BJP Government is selling land and mortgaging properties, including old age
homes.
He added that the Congress Government, when it comes to power,
will innovate and ensure that funds are made available to help farmers, youth,
and the elderly.
Be
it taking over farmer’s debt or providing the youth with a stipend till they
get employment. Captain Amarinder Singh has ensured that the manifesto
positively impacts the lives of every citizen of Punjab.
