Election commission has cancelled parliamentary
byelection in Kashmir and has said that the situation in Anantnag is not in favour
to hold it there.

company which is not sufficient. the date extension is not correct remedy the
extension will not be correct seeing the forth coming Ramjan and Amarnath Yatra.
Umar Abdullah, former chief minister of Kashmir, said the election cancelation
is disappointing.
Mehbooba Mufti had resigned from parliamentary
constituency Anantnag last year. The violence is continued in Kashmir. 8 person
were killed in the violence sparked during the by poll on 9 April in Srinagar.
