22 people died and 35 injured in foot-over bridge accident in Mumbai.

22 people died and more than
35 people were injured in a stampede on railway foot over bridge in Mumbai on
Friday morning when the people were crossing through it between Parel and
Elphinstone railway station. The bridge was slippery by the rain water, and the
incident took place because of broken railing portion. The government announced
the compensation of Rs 10 to each next kin of deceased in this incident.
Railway Minister Piyush
Goyal said that the railway will pay 5 lakh compensation to each the next kin
of deceased; Rs 1 lakh each to the injured seriously; and Rs 50 thousand each
people to the minor injury in this accident while the government of Maharashtra
has announced also ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the next kin of deceased person
in this incident.
The Mumbai police has
requested to the people donate the blood. KEM hospital is facing blood
shortage. Hospital has crises of blood group, 'A negative, B negative, AB
Negative'.
The bridge is 106 years
old. The state rail minister manoj Sinha expressed his grief over the accident.
He has ordered to set up an inquiry. He added that the furore caused stampede.
According to the witness of the accident, KIshore Thakkar, "I
called rail administration at 10.34 o’clock, but there were no assistance till
half an hour. I had already complaint about this bridge to the rail Authority.

accident and condoled this. PM Modi expressed his grief over this accident.
