Supreme Court has taken cognisance of officer’s murder in Solan Himanchal Pradesh. The apex court says
that because the officer is murdered in open and the police could not arrest
the accused is a very serious matter. The court has reprimanded the state
government of Himanchal Pradesh for not providing the adequate security police
forces at the hour of need.
According to information,
Shailbala Sharma Assistant Town Planner with her enforcement team had visited
the place to remove the illegal encroachment of a hotel; meanwhile hotel owner
attacked over her. A labourer also sustained bullet injury.
Actually, Supreme Court had
ordered on April 17th last month to remove the illegal construction within two
weeks in Kasauli district. In the wake of this order Town and Country Planning
Officer, Shail Bala Sharma with her team had gone to remove the illegal
construction of a hotel.
Her team found that the
construction done in forth of Naraini Hotel at Kasauli was illegal. As the
woman officer and her team reached to the spot to remove the illegal
construction, the hotel staff and the owner began to fracas over the action.
Vijay Kumar Thakur lost his balance and pumped the bullet at her.
The
woman officer sustained two bullets injuries in this attack; consequently, She
succumbed to her injuries on the spot. One labourer also got the bullet injury.
The local doctors have referred him Chandigarh PGI for the treatment. The murder
accused Vijay Thakur has absconded after the incident.
