The
employees of Printing and Stationary Department UP outside the director office
in the premises at Allahabad are staging Dharna continuously for their demand
of promotion.
Mr
Ram Sumer, President of Employees Association, told here that the administration
of this department has had stop all the
avenues of promotion since past two years, which has created a discontent among
the employees.
He
said, " We have served our memorandum to
the Director and given an ultimatum of coming date August 13th to take
the decision about promotion for the eligible employees. Our agitation shall
intense if the decision is not met to our deadline."
He
has added that 33 posts of 51 Administrative officers, 33 of 79 Head
Assistants, and 33 of 145 Senior Assitants are vacant under in many units
including directorate of this department, which is to be filled-up through
departmental promotion; but it is our fate that in spite of being our own
director we are not in position to get the justice; our all promotion avenues
are at the dead end.
An
official staff (name not disclosed) told, a few employees of other cadre
were merged in clerical staff cadre who have been demanding their seniority
among the gradation of ministerial employees cadre. They have filed a writ
petition in High Court for being considered in cadre seniority of clerical
promotion.
The
department is facing this implication and trying constantly to solve this
problem stemmed up from the government.
